THROUGH ARCHIVAL/MEMORY WORK, FILM-MAKING,& COLLAGE AS VESSEL; SHE TOILS WITH THEMES OF SPIRITUALITY, CHILDHOOD, & DIASPORIC/COMMUNAL CONNECTIONS. BORN & RAISED ON THE SOUTHSIDE OF CHICAGO, WITH DEEP SOUTHERN-ANCESTRAL ROOTS,

LEARENNA HAS ORCHESTRATED A NUANCED STYLE OF CREATION & VISUAL STORY-TELLING TO SOW THE SEEDS IN CONFRONTING, AND WITNESSING THE FOUND COMFORT IN MUDDY WATERS. SYNTHESIZING HER STUDIES AND LIVED EXPERIENCE, SHE HAS CREATED VISUAL & WRITTEN TEXT THAT PROVIDES SPACE TO GROUND IN REAL-TIME WHILE TRAVERSING THROUGH TIME & MEMORY IN THE FAMILIAL/PERSONAL ARCHIVES.
