CARLUS
HENDERSON
Carlus Henderson is a teacher and practicing artist based in New Orleans. Originally from “Georgialina” (a term coined by James Brown to describe the borderlands of the CSRA), he earned his MFA in Writing from the University of Michigan, where his work was shaped by a blend of rigorous academic training and the rich cultural influences of the American South.
In addition to his artistic practice, Henderson is dedicated to education, sharing his knowledge and passion for learning with his students. His work spans various mediums and often incorporates personal and cultural narratives, offering a poignant commentary on the intersections of history and contemporary experiences of the Black continuum.
